Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Jul 23 (EFE).- The Sumar candidate for the Congress of Deputies in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Alberto Rodríguez, has encouraged people to vote en masse because, he added, there is a very important part of Canarian society that knows “that our rights and freedoms are at stake.”
Rodríguez, who voted at a polling station in Ofra, has told journalists that the situation is “very even” and in his opinion, this is the most disputed election in recent years.
The right to vote “did not fall from heaven” said the candidate who indicated “that it took a lot of sweat and a lot of sacrifice and a lot of struggle from a lot of people so that today we can vote.”
He has insisted that freedoms may be at stake “not only those that we already have but those that we can achieve, which we firmly believe are many.”
Rodríguez has affirmed that they are atypical elections, not only because of the dates on which they have been called and the situation in which they were called, but also because they are the ones about which there is the most uncertainty in recent years. EFE
