“On the night of July 22-23, Russian troops launched another massive attack on the territory of Odessa and the region. At 04:00, it was established that one person was killed and 22 others, including four children, were injured as a result of the enemy shelling of the city of Odessa,” the National Police stated on Telegram.
The fatal victim is a man born in 1974 and the injured minors are 11, 12 and two of them, 17 years old, he adds.
According to the police, civil infrastructure facilities, apartment blocks and private residential buildings and cars were damaged.
Many houses have damaged facades and roofs and broken windows, the report adds.
The Transfiguration Cathedral, in the center of the city, was also damaged, where a fire broke out.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian troops fired 19 missiles of various types, of which Ukrainian air defense forces managed to shoot down nine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed today that there will be reprisals after the new Russian night attack with 19 missiles against the port city and the Ukrainian region of Odesa that left one dead and 22 injured, including four minors.
“Missiles against peaceful cities, against residential buildings, a cathedral… There can be no excuse for Russian wickedness. As always, this evil will lose. And there will definitely be reprisals for Russian terrorists for Odessa. They will feel these reprisals, ”he wrote in a message on Telegram.
He added that “assistance is being provided to all who suffered from this latest terrorist attack.”
“I am grateful to everyone who is helping people and everyone who is with Odesa in their thoughts and emotions. Let’s get out of this. We will restore peace. And for this, it is necessary to defeat the Russian evil, ”she noted.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba called on the international community to condemn this new attack on this Black Sea port city.
“The largest attack ever perpetrated against a major port vital to world food security is an attack against the entire international community. I urge all states and organizations to condemn this barbaric war crime,” she wrote on Twitter.
He added that “Russian missile strikes kill people and ruin iconic sites in UNESCO-protected Odessa.”
The Ukrainian Air Force had specified that during the attack, Russian forces launched at least five types of missiles: Kalibr, Oniks, Kh-22, Iskander-K and Iskander-M.
