Guatemala City (EFE).- The Public Ministry (MP, Prosecutor’s Office) of Guatemala is raiding this Friday the headquarters of the Movimiento Semilla group, as part of the proceedings for an alleged case of corruption with which they seek to cancel the party.
Several members of Semilla, the party that is nominating the progressive Bernardo Arévalo for the Presidency, confirmed that the Prosecutor’s Office is searching its facilities, located in the center of Guatemala City.
The actions are part of the attempts by the Prosecutor’s Office to suspend Semilla for the second round of elections, scheduled for August 20 against former first lady Sandra Torres Casanova.
