Madrid, Jul 20 (EFE).- Almost two months after the regional elections on May 28, Navarra, Aragon and Murcia are still without a government and, since they will not close the agreements before 23J, two scenarios are open as of Sunday: either they close the pacts before a month and a half or they will be forced to repeat the elections.
After the inauguration this Wednesday of Adrián Barbón (PSOE) as president of Asturias -with the support of IU and Podemos-, this is the situation in the only three communities that still do not have a government.
Murcia, a failed investiture
Ten days after the failed investiture session of the popular Fernando López Miras, the blockade continues in the Region of Murcia and the chances that Murcians will return to the polls are increasing.
The PP obtained 21 deputies in the regional elections, remaining two short of an absolute majority, which is why it needs the support of Vox to form a government.
However, the formation of Santiago Abascal reiterates that they are not willing to facilitate the investiture if they do not enter the regional Executive: “We are not the broom car of the PP,” says Abascal.
For this reason, the investiture session of López Miras was unsuccessful -Vox voted against- and the elections could have to be repeated.
The opposition assumes that the negotiations between PP and Vox will be unblocked after 23J, although the popular ones insist that they will not give an inch and will not allow those of Abascal to enter the Government.
It is likely that, depending on the result that Vox obtains on Sunday, they will be in a position to continue tightening the strings or, on the contrary, lower their demands.
Chivite continues negotiating the Navarra agreement
In Navarra, the party that obtained the most votes was that of the current president, María Chivite (PSN), who continues to negotiate with her partners, Geroa Bai and Contigo-Zurekin (Podemos, IU and Batzarre).
At the moment, the three parties are working on the content of what will be the programmatic agreement and which must also be accompanied by an agreement regarding the structure of the Government.
It is taken for granted that the pact will not arrive until after 23J, although Chivite separates it from the general elections and declines to comment on the probable abstention of EH Bildu in his investiture, necessary as in 2019 for her to be elected, since, they say, “what others decide will be their own decision”.
In any case, they have until August 28 to reach an agreement with their partners.
Negotiations halted in Aragon
In Aragon, the investiture could be delayed until August 23, the date after which, if there is no legislature agreement, the Aragonese will return to the polls.
The Popular Party, with its candidate Jorge Azcón, was the most voted list with 35.5% of the votes and 28 deputies, but they need Vox, which was consolidated as the third force.
Alejandro Nolasco, the leader of Vox in Aragon, calls it “surreal” that Azcón insists that he wants a solo government, when he has an absolute majority with his party.
He also stresses that there have been no more conversations with the PP since June 23, when the Cortes were constituted after both formations reached an agreement that has culminated in the presidency of Vox in the chamber.
However, Jorge Azcón was convinced last Monday that there will be “a change” in the region since, since his party was the most voted for, he considers that “there is no alternative.”
