Granada, (EFE).- The national deputy secretary of Culture and Open Society of the PP and campaign spokesman, Borja Sémper, assured this Tuesday that the objective of his party is to preserve bullfighting as a cultural expression “of all Spaniards” and defend it from “political malice”.
Sémper has participated in Granada in a sector event on professional bullfighting training together with the mayoress of this Andalusian capital, Marifrán Carazo, and the bullfighter Cristina Sánchez, among others.
He has taken advantage of the act to emphasize that the first objective of the PP is to preserve bullfighting as a cultural expression “of all Spaniards”, regardless of their political ideology, to protect it from “political malicious intent”.
“Bullfighting is one of the most relevant cultural expressions in our country, which has been affected in recent years by the polarization that afflicts Spanish politics and society, politicizing absolutely everything”, Sémper stressed.
The PP’s national deputy secretary of Culture has pointed out that the challenge is to recover the prestige of bullfighting as a national holiday.
In addition, he has recognized that the PP faces the end of a “long electoral period” with the certainty that change is about to arrive.
“We work for a more uplifting policy, with the conviction that there is a wave of change that exists in society and that we want to pick up, and we believe that it will be very positive for the Spanish people”, Borja Sémper asserted.
