Oviedo (EFE).- The acting president of the Principality, Adrián Barbón, stressed on Monday that “advance is being made” in the talks with IU-Convocatoria por Asturias for the formation of a government of “progressive unity”, which must be made up of “politicians and technicians”.
“I see a good harmony”, he said in response to questions from journalists at a press conference with the Chambers of Oviedo, Gijón and Avilés, about the open negotiations with IU, which are being carried out “discreetly” and which are now focused on the “exchange of documents”.
“Internal differences” in Podemos
“With whom there is no progress” is with Podemos, Barbón pointed out, assuring that one of his “greatest obsessions” is to build a “stable” Executive and that the purple formation is mired in “disagreements” between the party leadership and its only deputy, Covadonga Tomé.
In this sense, he has said that he does not know if the parliamentarian “will follow the agreement” reached in the Citizen Council to vote in favor of his investiture, which would allow him to be elected on Wednesday by an absolute majority, or if he will abstain and finally be elected on Friday.
“It depends on We Can. The party agreed to vote in favor, but it has not materialized due to a matter of internal differences, ”he added in this regard.
The acting president has reiterated that the limit set for negotiating the next government has been set at August 1, while at the same time he has assured that he “will not call” any person to hold the position of counselor until he is sworn in as head of the Executive, whose Vice Presidency wants it to be occupied by “a party person.” EFE
