Seville, (EFE).- The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) warns of a new heat wave with “extreme” risk from this Monday until next Wednesday that will cause different regions of the provinces of Córdoba and Jaén to remain this Monday in Red notice for temperatures up to 44 degrees Celsius.
The 112 of Andalusia has specified that the red risk level will affect the regions of the Campiña Cordoba and the Jaén regions of the Guadalquivir Valley, Morena and Condado, between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Monday.
An orange warning due to a significant risk of temperatures of up to 42 degrees will affect Seville, and 41 in Granada, in the same time slot.
The Aemet has issued a special notice in which it warns that this new heat wave will last until next Wednesday due to a mass of warm and very dry air with similar characteristics to the one that was already registered at the beginning of this week in Andalusia, accompanied by calima in height.
A weekend up to 39 degrees
Three autonomous communities -Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha and Madrid- are on yellow alert (risk) due to the high temperatures forecast for today, on the eve of the new heat wave that will hit Spain starting tomorrow and that will raise the thermometers above 40 degrees in many places.
In many places in Andalusia the thermometers will rise to 39 degrees today, although according to the notices of the State Meteorological Agency it can reach 40 locally; and in the community of Castilla-La Mancha these values will rise above 35 degrees in many places and will reach 38 degrees in several areas.
In Madrid, the yellow warning (risk) is concentrated in the south of the community, where the thermometers will reach 37 degrees in the central hours of the day.
In addition to heat, “coastal” warnings have been activated in the Canary Islands, due to the strong wind that will be registered in coastal areas on the islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency.
But it will be from tomorrow when the thermometers soar in much of the country and temperatures will rise above 40 degrees in many places in a new heat wave that will last until Wednesday. EFE
