Valladolid (EFE).- Castilla y León reached June 30 with 34,169 patients on the waiting list and an average delay of 103 days to undergo surgery in one of the 14 public hospitals in the Community, which is 8 less than in the first quarter and 26 less than a year ago.
Those 34,169 patients on the waiting list are 2,044 fewer than between January and March of this year and 5,073 fewer than in the same period in 2022.
The Ministry of Health has published this Friday the waiting list data for the second quarter of 2023, which includes that it is traumatology, with 11,643 patients, the specialty with the longest waiting list as of June 30, followed by 6,423 general surgery and digestive.
The longest wait, in Traumatology with 145 days
Along the same lines, traumatology has the longest delay, where an average of 145 days are expected to be operated, followed by neurosurgery, with 770 patients on the waiting list and a delay of 142 days, and plastic surgery, with 118 days. expected, and 1,177 patients.
The average delay, between 140 days in the Salamanca Hospital and 46 in Palencia and Zamora
The average delay ranges from 140 days in the Salamanca hospital (158 in the first quarter and 169 in the same period of 2022), and 46 in Palencia (48 at the end of March and 44 in the same period of 2022) and Zamora. (49 in the first quarter and 55 a year ago), according to data collected by EFE.
As for the rest of the hospitals, in Burgos the wait is 136 days to be operated, when a year ago there were 191 and at the end of March 149; in the Bierzo hospital 126 days, compared to 135 a year ago and 138 in the first quarter of the year.
They are followed, due to the greater delay, that of León, with 109 days, 137 a year ago and 118 at the end of March, which closes the group of centers above those 103 days of regional average.
The delay in the Río Hortega hospital in Valladolid is 85 days, which a year ago had 101 days of waiting, and in the previous quarter 90; and that of Soria, with 81 days, also below the 96 of a year ago and the 85 of the first quarter of 2023.
The wait rises in Ávila in seven days and twelve in Medina del Campo
In Ávila, the average wait to be operated is 74 days, above the 67 of a year ago and the previous quarter; in the Santiago Apóstol de Miranda de Ebro in 67 days, one less than a year ago and one more than at the end of March; in Santos Reyes de Aranda in 63 days, thirteen less than at the end of June 2022 and four less than at the end of the first quarter of 2023.
In the Segovia hospital, the wait is 55 days, when a year ago it was 83, and in the previous quarter it was 64; in Medina del Campo (Valladolid), in 59 days, twelve more than a year ago and 16 more than at the end of March; and in the Valladolid Clinic in 62 days, 24 less than a year ago and four less than in the first quarter of 2023.
Cataracts and knee osteoarthritis take over the processes with more patients waiting
By diagnoses, the four processes with the largest number of patients awaiting intervention as of June 30, 2023 have been the following: cataracts (4,827 patients), knee osteoarthritis (2,901), inguinal hernia (1,885) and acquired deformities in the hands and feet (1,375), as detailed by the Ministry in a statement.
Regarding the priority criteria to be operated on, at level 1, that is, with an indication to be operated on within 30 days given their pathology, there are 928 patients registered, with an average delay of 9.63 days (11 a year ago). ). No patient has exceeded 30 days.
In priority 2 (ideal maximum of 90 days to undergo surgery) there were 5,561 patients on the date analyzed, with an average delay of 104 days (116 in 2022).
In priority 3 – term up to 180 days – 27,680 patients have been registered at the end of June, with an average delay of 106 days (135 in June 2022).
The wait for a first external consultation is 87 days, one less than in March
Regarding the data referring to delays for a hospital outpatient consultation, the balance at the end of June indicates that the average wait was 87 days, compared to 88 in the previous quarter.
In the data from external consultations from June 2022, there was no regional average, with indicators from some hospitals and by specialties.
Between April and June there were 193,151 consultations in the regional health sector on structural waiting, compared to 213,357 in the previous quarter, 20,206 fewer consultations, which translates into a decrease of 9.4%.
In this case, the average delay for an external consultation ranges from 153 days at the Bierzo hospital, 137 from Salamanca and 129 from Soria and 105 from Zamora and 35 from Ávila, 38 from Medina del Campo or 46 from the Valladolid Clinic.
Pending diagnostic tests: CT scans and mammograms almost double compared to last year
The total number of tests on the structural waiting lists for diagnostic techniques in Sacyl hospitals has been as follows: the TAC totals 3,614 pending tests, compared to 1,875 a year ago; magnetic resonance 3,724 tests (2,561); ultrasounds 10,369 (6,503); and pending mammograms add up to 797 (367).
In the first quarter of 2023, the TACs on the waiting list were 3,653; 2,689 resonances, 11,426 ultrasounds and 910 mammograms.
