Madrid (EFE).- The judge of the National Court Joaquín Gadea has decreed provisional detention for the woman of Spanish nationality arrested this past Tuesday for crimes of jihadism in Tudela de Duero (Valladolid) during an operation carried out by the Civil Guard.
Gadea has adopted this decision at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, which attributes to the detainee crimes of self-indoctrination and exaltation of terrorism, legal sources have informed EFE.
The woman has been placed this Thursday at the disposal of the reinforcement judge of the Central Court of Instruction 6 of the National Court, who has taken a statement in this case that has been declared secret. After her appearance, the prosecutor has requested her entry into pretrial detention for risk of escape and destruction of evidence.
Agents of the Information Service of the Civil Guard and the Valladolid Command participated in the arrest, who carried out several searches in houses in the town of Valladolid.
The Tudela de Duero City Council, surprised by the deployment of an anti-terrorist operation in the center of town, appealed for the tranquility and “guaranteed” security of the residents.
In a statement, the consistory linked this action to an operation launched months ago at the national level, without the arrest of this woman and the intervention of the Civil Guard having to do with “no jihadist cell” in the town. EFE
