Lugo, Jul 12 (EFE).- Two young people aged 21 and 19 have died this Wednesday and another, 22, is seriously injured, after the car in which they were traveling was hit by a train at the place of Recimil, in the rural area of the municipality of Lugo, when the vehicle was crossing the road at a marked level crossing without barriers.
The Civil Guard reported this second death in the tragic event tonight.
The three occupants of the car were vocational training students from the CIFP Industrial Technological Center of León and were developing curricular training practices at the Telice company, within the framework of an agreement with the Junta de Castilla y León.
The company, through a statement, sent its “sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased young man.” When that note reached the newsrooms, he was one fatality, but now that figure has risen to two.
The incident occurred at 09:55, specifically at kilometer 423 of the Palencia-A Coruña railway. The tourism was dragged more than two hundred meters by the convoy.
Emergency services worked for hours at the point and rail traffic was interrupted.
At the time of the accident, 16 people were traveling on the train, on the A Coruña-Lugo-Monforte route. All of them, as confirmed by the emergency center, were unharmed, as was the train driver, and were later evacuated from the place in taxis and on board a bus.
The Civil Guard is investigating the causes of this accident.
