Madrid (EFE).- The Christmas Lottery is already on sale in administrations throughout the Spanish geography and the starting signal coincides with its summer advertising campaign, which this year has taken a turn of the screw and, from humor to which we were accustomed, has come to ‘pinch’ our hearts with emotion.
What if the Christmas Gordo falls here? asks this year’s campaign, which was presented this Wednesday at a press conference by the president of State Lotteries and Gambling, Jesús Huerta.
And “here” is not where one was born, but another place where one has put down roots and where one belongs. It is the town where you have always spent the summer with your family, where your grandparents took you by the hand to take your first steps, where your parents taught you to swim, where you met your first friends and enjoyed parties with the clubs.
That is what the Contrapunto campaign comes to say, which wants to value the “usual summer vacations” and the relationships that are established on the beaches, such as those of Gandía or other Valencian beaches where the advertisements have been filmed, or in the mountains of the sierra, such as those of Madrid, in Torrelodones, Rascafría or Miraflores de la Sierra, whose countries can also be intuited in some images.
In the summer almost 10% of the tenths of the Christmas Lottery are sold
The general sale begins as always in July, and in the summer almost 10% of the tenths that are put up for sale are sold. This year, five more series are also being launched: a total of 185 series of 100,000 issues each, that is, 185 million tenths.
This decision has been made because, according to Jesús Huerta, last year there were some difficulties in recent weeks to find some numbers.
With all this, the issue will amount to 3,700 million euros, of which 70% will be distributed in prizes, 2,590 million euros.
The prizes have not changed, nor has the price of the tenth, 20 euros. The Gordo or first prize of 4 million euros for the series, the second prize of 1,250,000 euros for the series and the third prize of 500,000 euros for the series. There will be two quarters of 200,000 euros for the series and eight fifths of 60,000 for the series, among other prizes.
All of them will be under some of the tenths that this year are illustrated with a work from the Museo Nacional del Prado, “La Natividad” by the Master of Sopetrán.
The tenth tickets will bear the logo of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU
Lotteries has chosen this work to recognize “the thousands of anonymous people who work excellently every day and who contribute incalculable value to the whole of society and help Spain to progress”. A flamenco-style painting, with which the tenth also becomes a cultural element.
But in addition, the tenths will bear the logo of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU, whose duration also coincides with the time that the Christmas tenths will be on the street.
That will be the image of this year’s tenths, which we will share one more year with family, friends, co-workers and which brings excitement to many homes.
Some tenths that, as Huerta has said, due to their size also get into everyone’s privacy, as will this year’s campaign that announces the sale of tenths in that place to which many belong, even if they live more than 600 kilometers of him, “even if they don’t have an accent and even if they don’t put it on any document.”
