The new president of the Canary Islands is thanks to the votes of the Popular Party (PP), the Gomera Socialist Association (ASG) and the Independent Herreña Association (AHI), a reality before which Clavijo has stressed the need for “unity ” and the participation of “all forces and social agents” in “political decisions”.
When asked about the upcoming general elections at the national level, the CC leader has indicated that the Canary Islands “need the understanding and commitment of Brussels and Madrid” and has wanted the outgoing government to be “stable and get to work immediately ” so that “the resources established in the budgets” that are key to “facing the new challenges” arrive on time.
