Vilnius (EFE).- The NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, today described the Alliance summit that opens today in Vilnius as “historic, before it begins”, alluding to the Turkish unblocking of Sweden’s entry announced this Monday from the Lithuanian capital.
“We are at a historic moment before a summit that will be historic,” Stoltenberg said in the forum prior to the official start of the summit, which is attended by the 31 leaders of the member countries, plus Sweden, as a guest.
The NATO Secretary General announced on Monday the unblocking by Turkey of the Nordic country’s entry, after the meeting held with the Swedish Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, and the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
