Granada (EFE).- Loja (Granada) has marked, with 44.6 degrees Celsius at 4:30 p.m. this Monday, the maximum temperature in Spain, while this Tuesday the alerts are maintained for the heat wave in Andalusia, with a red level due to the extreme risk of high temperatures of up to 44 degrees in the Granada region of the Cuenca del Genil.
All the maximum temperatures registered by the State Meteorological Agency throughout yesterday were located in Andalusia, with the exception of the station located in Villarrobledo (Albacete), which marked just one tenth less than Loja and reached 44.5 degrees. at 4:20 p.m.
Loja and Villarrobledo were followed by Montoro (Córdoba), with 44.4 at 6:40 p.m., and the airports of Granada (44.2) and Córdoba (44), while Andújar (Jaén) reached 43.8 at 5:50 p.m.
As reported by the 112 Andalusia Emergency Service, the red risk level in Granada will be in force between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., while the rest of the Andalusian provinces will also be at an orange level (important risk) during the day. except that of Huelva.
This last one is only affected by a yellow notice due to the heat wave that has been registered in the community since last Sunday and that will last, at least, until next Thursday.
In Almería, Córdoba, Jaén, Málaga and Seville, the current level for heat will be orange, for maximum temperatures of up to 43 degrees, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
During the day on Wednesday, also between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., the yellow level due to heat will be in force in the province of Málaga (Axarquía, Sol and Guadalhorce), in that of Granada (Costa, Nevada and Alpujarras), in that of Cádiz (Grazalema and Campiña), in Seville (Sierra Norte), in Huelva (Litoral, Aracena, Andévalo and Condado) and in Almería (Western and Capital), where temperatures will range between 36 and 39 degrees.
Recommendations for extreme heat
In the face of a heat wave, Emergencies 112 has offered a series of tips to the population to prevent risks associated with high temperatures, such as drinking water periodically, every two hours maximum, even if you do not feel thirsty.
Special attention must be paid to the elderly, the chronically ill and young children, and make sure they are properly hydrated and prevent them from going out in the middle of the day.
