Vilnius (EFE) lies”.
Sánchez has referred to the debate with Feijóo in statements to journalists upon his arrival at the NATO summit held in Vilnius.
The socialist candidate has stressed that what citizens deserve is to listen to proposals and the balance of these five years of Government and has said that this was the approach that led to the face to face.
Thus, he recalled that he referred to issues such as the labor reform or the rights of women or the LGTBI collective while in front of him he had “a Mr. Feijóo who, in the absolute absence of a political project and program, what he did was raise a mountain of lies.
“He made stark use of ETA terrorism, as in recent years, which fortunately disappeared eleven years ago and, therefore, I leave satisfied,” he added.
In his opinion, in the debate “many things have been clarified and it has become abundantly clear that the one who has a country project for the present and the future is the PSOE.”
When asked if he is also satisfied with the strategy and tone that he used in the debate, he stressed that he makes proposals but also responds to the “falsehoods” that he claims that Feijóo spread, such as saying that he had supported the pension reform.
“Behind that mountain of lies there is nothing behind; what there is is an absence of a political project”, he added, before describing Feijóo’s tactic with Vox as “disturbing” and reiterating that on July 23 there is not a mere alternation at stake, but whether Spain continues to advance or not.
Given this, he has shown himself confident that Spanish society “will continue to bet on progress and will say no to regression”.
