As reported by the spokesman for Emergencies 112, Luis Serrano, this service received several calls around three in the morning warning that a vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction and the last one reported that the car had collided head-on with another one in the kilometer 62.
Firefighters and Civil Protection personnel from the Alcorcón City Council, members of the Civil Guard and Summa 112 traveled to the scene of the accident, finding a family inside the car that was circulating correctly.
They unsuccessfully tried to revive the driver, a 42-year-old man, and transferred his 39-year-old wife and 4-year-old son, “as potentially serious” to Doce de Octubre Hospital.
The 35-year-old driver of the other vehicle was trapped, and was rescued by the Alcorcón fire brigade, before the Summa 112 took him to the Puerta de Hierro hospital in Madrid.
The Civil Guard has taken over the accident investigation.
