Bilbao (EFE).- The public of the Bilbao BBK Live festival returns to the nineties with the classics of the Californian indie rock band Pavement, in their second session of this edition.
The concert, the only one this year in Spain by the band led by Stephen Malkmus, has been liked by their followers, despite having lasted just over an hour, during which time they have linked all those songs that led them to become a cult group.
With this performance, Bilbao BBK Live returns to the nineties with the classics of the Californian band and yet, their hits like “Grounded”, “In the mouth a desert” or “Silence kid”, at the beginning of the performance, do not They have served to retain the public oblivious to the history of the band, which has been leaving the field in front of the main stage.
The performance, dominated by distorted guitars and the unmistakable voice of Stephen Malkmus, has continued with more classics, “Harness your hopes” and “Kennel district”, without the interest of the attendees, beyond the followers of the group, having increased.

With “Cut your hair”, one of the highlights of the night, “Father to a sister of thought”, an energetic “Unfair” and “Gold soundz”, which have played in a row, Malkmus and company have achieved the best moment of the performance, before performing “The Hexx” and “Stereo.”
In the final part they played “Spit on a stranger”, “Tape slowly” and “Range life”, another of the band’s classics with which they said goodbye, without encores, to the spectators who were still in front of the stage.
Variety of styles and Duki’s rap.
This second day of the festival has been characterized by the variety of proposals and musical styles that have been heard, as well as by the disparate origin of the artists who have taken to the stages scattered around the Mount Kobetas site.
The main stage has received the Argentine rapper Duki, with his third and recent album, “Antes de Ameri”, the same day that the tickets for the concert that he will offer at the Santiago Bernabéu on June 8, 2024 have gone on sale .
A trap star with a huge following on social networks and platforms, he has given a concert that has been musically the opposite of what Pavement was going to show a couple of hours later on that same stage.
Duki has combined energy and rage during a performance that began with the song “Rockstar”, with flares included, to review some of his best-known songs such as “If you feel alone”, “Before you lose yourself” or “She don’t give a FO” and “Givenchy,” which have closed the concert.
Those who can’t stand trap have found a good refuge in the bars distributed throughout the venue and the food stalls, and have also been able to see and listen, at the same time on the small stage, to Tinariwen, a Tuareg musical band from Algeria. .
The mixture of rock and folk that Tinariwen has offered to a large audience has contrasted with the electronic music for dancing that was heard later on the second stage, by the Irish Róisín Murphy, and with the urban rap and pop that arrived from Colombia with Basic Nampa.
Murphy has deployed all his musical and visual resources, with costume changes, wigs and hats, to fill the atmosphere with disco sounds with a funky touch thanks to songs like “Overpowered”, “The Universe”, “Something more”, “Incapable ” or the more recent “CooCool”.
Third day of the festival.
The third and final day of the festival will have the prominent presence of the British band Arctic Monkeys, headliner who will review their hits and present their new songs, and performances by The Idles, Love of Lesbian and The Last Dinner Party, among others.
