Madrid (EFE) , and State, institutional and international policies.
Those will be the four generic blocks on which the only ‘face to face’ will revolve, which will be held in the Atresmedia studios. They are the ones that have been marked to order the program’s rhythm, but there will not be a ‘mathematical’ duration for each one of them.
And there will not be one because, as explained by the presenters who will moderate it, Vicente Vallés and Ana Pastor, together with the general director of Antena 3 Noticias, Santiago González, this will be a debate with a “journalistic, not rigid, criterion.”
The moderators will be in charge of raising the issues to those who are “the protagonists”, as Ana Pastor has stressed. However, she has also commented when asked if she raised the possibility of cross-examining the candidates, that this “will be a debate between them, where journalists are also journalists.”
The two journalists, who have already worked together in several debates but never in a ‘face to face’, are expectant and excited to be able to participate as moderators in this format, which occurs at a time when, according to Vicente Vallés, has a special interest.
For Vallés, the debate will allow citizens to see how the candidates confront their proposals, and possibly, in his opinion, the things that happen in that debate will also condition the development of the campaign until the last day.
The debate will begin at ten o’clock on Monday night and there will be previous programs on all the Atresmedia channels and radio stations – Antena 3, La Sexta and Onda Cero, as well as Atresplayer.
The first to arrive at the Atresmedia facilities will be Feijóo, while the Socialist candidate will open the first block of the debate.
The second block will be started by Feijóo, the third will be the same as the second, that is, it will also be started by the leader of the PP, so that the fourth can be closed by a candidate other than the one who opened the first block.
The golden minute will begin with Sánchez and will be closed by Núñez Feijóo
The two candidates will be seated face to face to promote dialogue at a two and a half meter table, which has been arranged on the minimalist black and white plate where it will take place.
They may not use electronic devices (mobile phones, tablets, smart watches, etc.) and only a member of their team may accompany them on set before starting the debate and during the two short commercial breaks.
The moderators will sit at a counter, distanced from the debate table, from where they will present the meeting and launch the questions that they introduce in the different blocks.
Vallés and Pastor want the debate to be “agile and flexible”, but they also want it to be fair, which is why what they have called the “time room” has been created to control the participation times, so that they are balanced and thus avoid great differences in the use of the word between the candidates.
This special room will have a team of ACB table officials who will measure the interventions of the two candidates. It will look for “proportionality, but not accuracy” in the consumption of time, say the organizers.
The time that each candidate has had the floor will be reflected on a screen that both will be able to see from their position, but also the moderators will inform them if excessive imbalances are taking place.
The preparations for this ‘face to face’ are already being finalized.
