Caldes de Malavella (Girona), (EFE) it requires “a shared will that joins forces”.
Felipe VI has made this appeal at the closing ceremony of the 14th edition of the Princess of Girona Foundation (FPdGi) awards, in which he has defended “a constructive and participatory dialogue” between the different generations to provide “more definitive” solutions conclusive and solid.
After five years, the gala has been held again in the province of Girona, at the Camiral hotel in the town of Caldes de Malavella, since in the Girona capital, its city council, governed by the independentistas, declared the king a person ” non grata” in 2018 for its rejection of the illegal referendum in Catalonia and does not facilitate the transfer of a venue to organize the act.
Together with the Queen, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, Don Felipe has encouraged “building a better future together” and providing young people with tools to train, one of the objectives of the FPdGi, created in 2009 in favor of entrepreneurship and the formation of this group.
“We must give stability and a guarantee of the future to our youth. It is necessary for everyone, in all sectors of our society without exception, to be aware that this must be a common objective ”, the monarch maintained in a speech in which he interspersed Catalan and Spanish.
In his opinion, it is within the framework of “democracy and freedom” in which youth have always found “more progress and development”, to which he added that dialogue between generations “can provide more definitive solutions, more conclusive, more solid”.
For Felipe VI, the work of the FPdGi is “every day more necessary”, which is why he has asked public administrations and companies to support it so that it can continue to spread throughout Spain and the world.
“In view of what has been achieved, we can affirm that that objective is being met successfully and is, without a doubt, a collective achievement”, he has summarized the task of the foundation, of which Leonor de Borbón is its honorary president.
The head of the Government, Pere Aragonés, is the honorary vice president, although, as expected, he has been absent due to his refusal to participate in events organized by the Royal House.
The president of the Congress, Meritxell Batet; the Minister of Transport, Raquel Sánchez, and the leader of the PSC, Salvador Illa, among other authorities.
As a protest against the presence of the royal family in Girona, the Antimonarchical Coordinator of the Girona Regions organized a march this afternoon in Caldes de Malavella supported by pro-independence parties and entities and unions.
The list of winners of the 14th edition is made up of the violinist María Dueñas (Arts and Letters); the engineer Rafel Jordá (Company); biomedical doctor Marc Schneeberger (Scientific Research); the art therapist and creator of the Palliative Art Foundation, Silvia Fernández Cadevall (Social) and the co-founder of the Kidogo child care network, Canadian Sabrina Habib (International).
