Madrid (EFE).- King Juan Carlos plans to return to Sanxenxo (Pontevedra) at the end of July, a few days after the general elections in Spain, in order to participate in the regatta scheduled for the 28th, 29th and 30th Royal Nautical Club of the town of Pontevedra.
Don Juan Carlos’s plan is to embark those days on the “Bribón” to prepare for the world championship in the 6m category that will take place at the end of August in the United Kingdom, sources close to him have informed EFE after the news advanced by La Vanguard.
This regatta was to have been held on June 10 and 11, but the forecast of bad weather led the organization to suspend it.

If the trip is confirmed at the end of July to sail with the “Bribón”, it could be the circumstance of seeing the king emeritus haggle in the Galician town and Felipe VI in Palma, in the training session of the Copa del Rey of sail that will start the following day, as the head of state usually does at the beginning of his vacations in the Balearic capital.
Third visit to Spain of King Juan Carlos
It would be Don Juan’s third visit to Spain since his departure to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) in August 2020.
His first displacement was in May 2022, surrounded by great media expectation, which made the government uncomfortable, which reproached him for telling the press that he did not have to give explanations for his behavior in recent years, as he had insistently requested. the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez.
The second trip lasted from April 19 to 25, when he spent five days in Sanxenxo, again staying at the home of his friend Pedro Campos, and two in Vitoria for a medical check-up.
On that occasion, his stay was carried out discreetly, although it coincided with the run-up to the municipal and regional elections on May 28.
