Vitoria (EFE) Effective will spend 9 years in prison, prison sources have confirmed to EFE.
De Miguel was convicted of leading a network to irregularly obtain public contracts from administrations governed by the PNV and collect commissions in the largest corruption case discovered to date in the Basque Country.
The Provincial Court of Álava rejected all attempts by De Miguel to delay his entry into prison and on Monday gave him a period of 72 hours to enter jail. Last night another of those convicted in this case was also admitted to this same center, also a former leader of the nationalist party Koldo Otxandiano.
