Madrid (EFE).- The Popular Party presents this Tuesday its electoral program for the July 23 elections, after its candidate, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has broken down into sectoral acts some of his party’s proposals for families, the economy, health or culture.
The popular ones call to “repeal sanchismo” in form and substance, a maxim that does not go through repealing all the laws of the current Government since there are regulations such as the labor reform that will only have adjustments or will even remain intact.
Proposals for his first hundred days of Government
For the moment, Feijóo has explained what his proposals will be for the first hundred days of his Government, which he aspires to establish alone, with 14 portfolios, a female vice president and a Minister of Economy whose identity he has not revealed.
In the first three months, Feijóo will reduce taxes and specifically personal income tax on income of less than 40,000 euros.
It will also send reforms to the Cortes to modify the organic law of the Judiciary and change the system of election of the Council. In addition, it will modify the Criminal Code to recover the crime of sedition and recover the previous penalties for embezzlement.
It will also review all the measures in which Bildu’s vote was decisive, such as the housing law or the democratic memory law. And he will convene a Conference of Presidents.
From his economic program for the legislature, which he presented in Barcelona, the audit of the accounts is known, tax incentives to attract talent, a Perte for the tourism sector, a renewed plan for the hotel industry, and the restructuring of Next Generation funds.
Also prolong the life of nuclear power plants, create a national regulatory body for water. In housing, he promises to evict squatters in 24 hours and create specialized police forces.
In addition, Feijóo has revealed that he will not repeal taxes on banks and energy companies, although he will do so on large fortunes. One of the main unknowns of his electoral program is his plans for the sustainability of the pension system.
Health measures
Feijóo also advanced health measures, such as the creation of a thousand additional places in family and community medicine in each MIR call until the deficit is solved, more places in nursing, a national base for clinical trials or a National Suicide Prevention Plan.
Families are promised to increase the benefit for dependent children from the fifth month of pregnancy, extend permits for single-parent families, extend school hours to use the facilities on holidays and long weekends, recover special education centers and guarantee the infant education from 0 to 3 years co-financed by the Government and the autonomous regions.
Feijóo has also announced that he will make a new trans law and wants to review the euthanasia law together with the medical committees.
In addition, in Culture it has promised to have a ministry and to approve a Patronage Law.
