The Ministries of Labor and of Inclusion and Social Security have published last month’s labor market data on Tuesday, in which unemployment fell in Spain by 50,268 people (-1.84%), which left unemployment below the 2.7 million. It also gained 54,541 contributors, 0.26 percent, to exceed 20.86 million.
Registered unemployment fell in monthly variation in all the autonomous communities and Castilla y León recorded the fourth largest cut in percentage terms, with that -3.93 percent, only behind Asturias (-4.57%), Cantabria (- 4.36%) and Galicia (-4%).
In interannual data, Castilla y León has 10,973 fewer unemployed than a year ago, a 9.33 percent decrease, compared to -6.66 nationally, with 191,740 fewer unemployed in Spain than twelve months ago
Soria and Zamora recorded the biggest drops in Spain with -6.99 and -5.29
Unemployment fell in June compared to May in all the provinces of Castilla y León, and it did so especially in Soria and Zamora, which recorded 194 and 481 fewer unemployed, -6.99 and -5.29%, respectively, the highest relative decreases in the Spanish provincial group.
Ávila closed June with 313 fewer unemployed than the previous month (-3.56), Burgos with -592 (-4.13), León -774 (-3.47), Palencia -291 (-4.40), Salamanca -704 (-3.95), Segovia -210 (-3.94) and Valladolid -811 (-3.38).
In an annual comparison, all the provinces cut unemployment in the Community, between -15.32 in Palencia, -10.56 in Zamora and -10.53 in Valladolid and -7.30 in Ávila and -8. 04 from Segovia.
The service sector concentrated the drop in unemployment with -3,584
Unemployment fell in all sectors in June compared to the previous month except in the previously unemployed group, which recorded 97 more unemployed.
And it was the services sector, with -3,584 fewer unemployed, which concentrated the drop in unemployment last month in Castilla y León.
In agriculture, unemployment fell by 206 people, with 412 less in industry and 265 in construction.
68,943 contracts in June, 11% more than in May and 7,540 less than a year ago
Castilla y León scored 68,943 contracts in June, representing 11.02 percent more than the previous month (5.72 national), and 7,540 less than a year ago, -9.86 (-15.61).
Of those almost 69,000 contracts, 23,157 were permanent, 656 more than the previous month (2.92) and 4,502 less than a year ago (-16.28). In the national group, 1.11 percent more permanent contracts were formalized than in May and 19.37 percent less than in June 2022.
By sectors, 49,618 contracts were in the services sector, with 12,523 in industry, 4,323 in agriculture and 2,479 in construction.
Female unemployment fell 4.23%
In June, 2,835 women left unemployment in the Community, which leaves 64,146 unemployed, -4.24 percent than the previous month; while male unemployment decreased in monthly data by 3.48 percent, with -1,535, up to 42,539 unemployed in Castilla y León.
In the group under 25 years of age, June left 178 fewer meadows (-2.25%), up to 7,737.
Unemployment benefits for 66,151 unemployed
Regarding unemployment benefits, they reached 66,151 unemployed in the Community, with data from May, with 29,867 contributory benefits, 32,547 subsidies and 3,737 active insertion income.
All provinces gained affiliates to Social Security
All the provinces of the Community gained affiliates to Social Security in June, between 1.51 percent in Soria, 1.36 in Segovia and 0.32 in Valladolid and 0.33 in Burgos.
Of the 962,241 contributors that Castilla y León has at the end of June, 774,658 are in the general regime, of them 14,038 in agriculture and 15,770 in the household. Again there are contributors to the coal regime, with 14, all of them in the province of León. With another 187,569 to the self-employed. EFE
