Manu has not found a place in the first team during the last three seasons, after his irruption from the subsidiary with his debut in official competition under Diego Simeone on December 14, 2019 against Osasuna, with a 2-0 victory .
Born on August 24, 2000 in Madrid, the under-21 international on ten occasions, a participant in the current European Championship of the category, played another six more duels with the Atlético first team, five as a starter. The last one, with his assistance, was precisely against Celta in Balaídos (0-2 on October 17, 2020), his next destination.
He has played the three previous seasons on loan in Osasuna, with a total of 88 games, 63 starts, with one goal and ten assists, before his final transfer to Celta within the operation that has led, in turn, to Javi Galán, also a left back like him, from Balaídos to the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium of Atlético de Madrid.
Manu Sánchez is the fourth move out of the rojiblanco club in this summer market. Two of the other three have also affected two full-backs, Matt Doherty on the right and Sergio Reguilón on the left, who have ended their relationship with the Madrid entity with little prominence, after arriving from Tottenham last season.
The other has been Geoffrey Kondogbia, transferred to Olympique de Marseille.
