Madrid, Jul 3 (EFE) that there will be no more murders of women in Madrid or in the rest of Spain.
This was expressed by the mayor of the capital, who together with several members of the government team and representatives of municipal political groups, have observed a minute of silence this Monday in front of the Madrid City Council headquarters, in Plaza de Cibeles, to condemn the murder of a Móstoles neighbor last Wednesday.
“There is no room for sexist violence in our society,” said the mayor, stating that the institutions must make “a special effort to put an end to this scourge once and for all.”
The minute of silence has been summoned at the access doors to all municipal offices
The murdered woman, Vanesa, a 36-year-old Spaniard, was stabbed by her ex-partner in a local home and died at the 12 de Octubre Hospital.
According to the investigations of the Madrid Homicide Group VI, the alleged perpetrator of the events was the woman’s sentimental partner, a 47-year-old Spanish man who had been denounced for threats and who the National Police was trying to locate for that reason.
