Madrid (EFE).- The leader of the Popular Party and candidate for the presidency of the Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, shared a video this Sunday in which he recalls key moments in his life, such as his beginnings in politics, and in which he the advice that his family always gave him: “Do things well, be serious and think of others”.
Feijóo, who claims to be a person of humble origins, reviews in this ten-minute video, which he has posted on social networks, from his “happy” childhood to the four absolute majorities he achieved in the elections to the Xunta de Galicia.
He also recalls that on one occasion he voted for the socialist Felipe González, something he does not regret because he considers that it was “what Spain needed at that time.”
I dreamed of being a judge
The current leader of the opposition, who was born in a small Galician village and who dreamed of being a judge during his time as a law student at the University of Santiago de Compostela, says that his vocation was frustrated when his father was fired and he had to change his plans to get an opposition in five months.
Being an official of the Ministry of Finance of the Xunta allowed him, a few years later, to be appointed Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, a political position that, according to what he explains, he initially rejected.
Later he went through the Ministry of Health and presided over the Post Office, where he learned about the “real and social importance of public management.”
Once affiliated with the PP, he returned to the Xunta de Galicia as head of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing, before running for his first elections as a candidate in this community, which he governed from 2009 to 2022.
“In April of the year 22, Alberto Núñez Feijóo was elected president of the Popular Party and candidate for the Presidency of all Spaniards,” the video concludes. EFE
