Barcelona (EFE) his readmission to the Barcelona entity.
Last April, FC Barcelona informed TBSC Barcelona Producciones, a subsidiary of Telefónica and manager of the club’s official channel, that it would not renew its contract to provide services and the Barça TV broadcast would be closed, due to the difficult economic situation. that runs through the club.
For this reason, Natxo Parra, labor lawyer for the Ronda Collective in charge of advising the Barça TV workers in this process, assured that behind this collective dismissal there has been an illegal transfer of workers.
“Telefónica is a screen, it does not pay any kind of amount to work with Barça. The workers are on the payroll, but it is Barça who have decided to do without their services. Telefónica does not assume any business risk as a service provider, it is the club that assumes them, from issuing orders to technical material”, the lawyer stressed.
In this line, Parra assured that Telefónica has received 3,182,000 euros of annual net profit from its contract during the last three years, an amount that it considers “exorbitant”.
These numbers collide with the annual salary cost that the 94 employees of Barça TV suppose to FC Barcelona, 3,647,000 euros according to the lawyer in charge of negotiating with the Barcelona entity the dismissal of these workers. “In relation to the financial capacity of the club, it is negligible,” he explained.
All in all, Parra stated that from the Ronda Collective they demanded from Telefónica the presence of Barcelona in the negotiation processes, but they did not obtain a positive response: “We would like to have known the position of the club in its future communication perspective and the fit that the workers they could have”.
And it is that FC Barcelona will continue to broadcast audiovisual content through its different platforms, digital content that is also produced by the Barça TV staff together with Barça Produccions.
This audiovisual content producer has 13 workers on the payroll, “unsustainable” according to Parra, for all the content generated by the club.
All in all, if nothing changes, starting tomorrow June 30, Telefónica will make effective the dismissal of the Barça TV workers. For this reason, they will sue both the club and Telefónica and will demand their continuity.
