New York (EFE).- Microsoft and LinkedIn launched this Wednesday some free training courses in English to learn how to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
“The new course provides the opportunity to learn introductory AI concepts, such as responsible AI frameworks, and receive a certificate,” highlights a statement from the technology company created by Bill Gates.
According to Microsoft, “in the coming months” these courses will also be launched in Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Simplified Chinese and Japanese.
The company also announced a suite of training tools for educators with “downloadable content and reduced size.”
Microsoft also announced a grant to boost historically marginalized populations and noted that the objective of this grant – for which applications can be submitted until August 15 – is to “explore how non-profit social enterprises and institutions academic or research organizations can empower the workforce using generative AI.”
Microsoft’s commitment to AI
Following the popularity of OpenAI’s AI chatbot, ChatGPT, last November, Microsoft made a “billion-dollar” investment in the startup, and in February the tech giant announced its AI chatbot, Bing, which it is powered by OpenAI technology.
After the implementation of these tools in various sectors, both experts and governments have shown their concern about the effects that this type of technology -which can generate text, photos and videos- can have on society.
Among the short-term fears is the increase in misinformation and the disappearance of jobs, especially in the office.
According to a Microsoft survey, 49% of people surveyed say they are concerned that AI will replace their jobs.
However, the same study indicates that 70% of respondents would delegate as many tasks as possible to AI to reduce their workload.
