Santa Cruz De Tenerife (EFE).- Vox has not registered its candidacy for the Congress of Deputies for Santa Cruz de Tenerife for the general elections on July 23 after the resignation of several candidates on the list, after the party decided to change the head of the list, Rubén Darío Vega.
As published this Tuesday by the newspapers El Día and La Provincia, Vox has been left without a candidacy for Congress for the aforementioned province after last Sunday some members of the list were deleted a few hours after the closing date established by the provincial Electoral Board to correct errors or make modifications.
This decision left the party with no room to register new names for the candidacy for the Lower House for Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Vox had communicated two weeks ago its intention to replace the head of the list for the province, Rubén Darío Vega, who was up for re-election after being elected national deputy for Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the last general elections, and put in his place Alejandro Gómez, current councilor in the City Council of the capital of Tenerife.
Party sources in Tenerife have told EFE that they are compiling all the information “and reviewing the legal options we have.”
Nicasio Galván, candidate for the presidency of the Canary Islands by VOX and elected deputy, has agreed with this position, he has affirmed to EFE, before the plenary session of constitution of the Parliament of the Canary Islands scheduled for this Tuesday, that the party is compiling all the information possible to know what has happened “and if we can take some type of judicial action to be able to correct it”.
In his opinion, depending on what happened, one action or another could be taken “but since we don’t know exactly what happened, we are collecting information.”
Asked if this resignation is due to the external imposition of candidates, he answered no because the lists were published in the BOE with “the seven who were going through Santa Cruz de Tenerife” and he has asserted that it is not a “riot”. , but of “a discrepancy”, to insist that he does not know what has happened.
As for whether this fact leaves the Vox electorate “orphaned”, he has opined that “of course, and even more so after the wonderful results” obtained in the Canary Islands where, he stressed, there are many people who want to vote for Vox, for which he has reiterated that “let’s see if we fix it.”
Regarding which formation would request the vote if in the end Vox cannot correct the absence of a candidacy for the province, Nicasio Galván has answered that they are “futurible” that he cannot answer, and has specified that in the candidacy registered by Vox for the Senate for Tenerife, La Palma, El Hierro and La Gomera there have been no problems.
