Los Angeles (USA) (EFE).- The Mexican-American Jaime Jáquez Jr. was chosen 18th in the NBA draft by the Miami Heat.
“I feel amazing right now. It’s surreal. There are no words to describe it, ”said the young man, accompanied by his parents, as soon as he put on the Heat cap in the draft held at the Barclays Center for the Brooklyn Nets in New York.
Californian of Mexican descent, Jáquez Jr. completed his four years of training at UCLA, a university with which he reached an NCAA ‘Final Four’ in 2021.
A 22-year-old forward, which places him among the most ‘veteran’ of this draft promotion, Jáquez Jr. stands out for his energy and grit on the court, his versatility in attack and his ability to rebound.
Jáquez Jr. thus reaches a Heat that this year broke all the forecasts by reaching the NBA Finals after qualifying as eighth in the East.
The team led by Jimmy Butler on the court and by Erik Spoelstra on the bench finally fell in the ring series against Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets.
