Valencia (EFE).- The Spanish Union of Air Line Pilots (Sepla) has called off the daily indefinite strike at Air Nostrum, which fully recovers activity during the summer season.
The Valencian airline has stated that the will to negotiate between the two parties has allowed the strikes to be called off, which went from being every Monday and Friday to being daily at all the bases and work centers of the company since the beginning of this month of June .
“A STEP FORWARD”
Air Nostrum has reported in a statement that Sepla called off the indefinite daily strike of pilots on Thursday night, and acknowledges that both parties have taken “a step forward” to guarantee passenger mobility in a crucial season such as that of summer.
The airline has thanked its customers for their understanding and has apologized for the disruptions they may have suffered as a result of the stoppages.
SAFEGUARDING THE SUMMER CAMPAIGN
For its part, Sepla explained that, after the latest progress in negotiations and with the aim of showing goodwill and safeguarding the summer campaign, it has decided to call off the strike.
The union will continue negotiating in order to crystallize an agreement on the working and salary conditions of the pilots.
ON STRIKE SINCE FEBRUARY
Sepla began an indefinite strike of two days a week on February 27 to demand fair working conditions and professional classification for technical crew members, as well as measures to alleviate the loss of purchasing power.
The airline considered that the demands were in the upper band of what is being negotiated in most of the country’s collective agreements.
These positions have not allowed rapprochement in recent weeks but now the negotiating will of both parties has allowed the strikes to be called off.
