Madrid (EFE).- The second vice president, Minister of Labor and leader of Sumar, Yolanda Díaz, has included in the proposals for the general elections on July 23 to progressively reduce the working day, setting it by law at a maximum of 37.5 hours already in 2024.
According to the information sent to the media, the electoral program will include this commitment along with opening a process of social dialogue to continue reducing the working day to 32 hours a week compared to the current 40.
“Being at home an hour earlier will improve your life and we will also have a healthier economy,” Díaz stressed in a video.
Along with this, they propose other measures such as better control of overtime and compensation with free time or more flexible time management throughout the professional career of people, including at this point recovering the relief contract in a general way .
These changes, defends Díaz, will help everyone, but “especially women” who are the ones with “less free time.”
