In statements to the media before the inauguration of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, at the headquarters of the regional government, García accused Díaz Ayuso of being “incapable of hanging the Pride flag in the institutions”. Madrid, while making “cuts in LGTBi and trans freedoms and rights.”
The leader of Más Madrid has said that it is “proud” that as a senator and member of Más Madrid Antonelli “is the first trans woman in a general court” and added that they are “proud of our Pride and the journey and fight for rights that have accompanied Mrs. Antonelli all her life”.
Carla Antonelli asked this week the Madrid Assembly to place the LGTBi flag on June 28, International Pride Day, on the façade of the Madrid Parliament, a banner that was hung for the last time in the legislature in which PP and Cs governed in 2019, when the orange formation presided over the Regional Chamber Table.
García lamented that “today a government that blends in with the extreme right begins” and added that “Vox does not need seats because they have the entire government” of the Community of Madrid.
