Madrid (EFE) he signs up but never goes”.
Sánchez has criticized Feijóo’s attitude in the act that he has starred in at the PSOE headquarters together with the Minister of Agriculture, Luis Planas, to analyze the situation of this sector and the proposals put forward by the party before the elections on July 23.
Before addressing these aspects, the Chief Executive recalled that the PSOE sent letters accepting them on Thursday to the four media outlets that have proposed debates (RTVE, Atresmedia, Mediaset and Prisa), but regretted that, meanwhile, the PP “continue defoliating the daisy”.
“For Feijóo, the debates are like the gyms in January. You sign up but you never go”, Sánchez joked.
After asking himself what fear the PP has of debating, he has considered that the answer lies “in what has been seen in recent days and weeks, the impossibility of being able to explain this unfortunate grotesque that we are seeing of the exchange of votes for rights.”
The PP summons the PSOE to meet next Monday to negotiate the debates
For his part, the PP campaign spokesman, Borja Sémper, has called on the PSOE to negotiate next Monday the conditions that must be met in the different electoral debates and has insisted that the leader of his party is willing to have a face to face face with Pedro Sánchez and with Yolanda Díaz, together or separately.
In a press conference at the Puerta de Hierro sports park in Madrid to present campaign actions, Sémper has reiterated that the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, is willing to participate in a three-way debate with the representative that the Government decides .
“If Pedro Sánchez wants to leave out Yolanda Díaz, Feijóo has no problem in measuring himself face to face with the socialist candidate,” he said while criticizing that the socialists do not want this three-way debate because Sánchez “sees losses” the elections and “change the criteria”.
The popular influence that a format with the candidacy of the PP, the PSOE and Sumar “would better reflect” the political proposals of each formation and has advocated holding a meeting next week with both the PSOE and the Sumar team to negotiate the conditions: “As you wish”.
“Those who offer us the same should present themselves in a debate together to see how far they will go and what nuances they are going to put,” stressed the popular spokesperson.
Sémper recalled that the PP is also committed to a second debate in which Sánchez’s parliamentary partners participate, with ERC, EH Bildu and PNV because “it seems to us that it would better reflect not only this legislature but also what Pedro Sánchez proposes in the future ”.
