In her last intervention in the second session of the plenary session of investiture that has once again made her president of the Community of Madrid, this time by an absolute majority, Ayuso has announced the new structure and the names of its Executive, which will continue to have nine ministries but less deputy ministries and general directorates to be “the most austere government in Spain”.
After confirming that none of the previous nine councilors will continue in the Government, Ayuso explained that this “essential change” of his Executive is not carried out “due to a lack of confidence or things that have not been done well”, since “the work achieved has brought us an absolute majority”, but because “renewal gives strength”.
MIGUEL ÁNGEL GARCÍA, COUNSELOR OF THE PRESIDENCY, JUSTICE AND LOCAL ADMINISTRATION
With a degree in Information Sciences, Miguel Ángel García moves to the front line from the Vice Ministry of the Presidency and Digital Transformation, which he has held since 2019.
He has held different management responsibilities in the Government of the Community of Madrid, as Deputy Minister of Finance and Employment (2015-2019) and of the Presidency (2019-2023), as well as General Director of Coordination of the Department of the Community of Madrid ( 2008-2012).
ROCIO ALBERT, MINISTER OF ECONOMY, FINANCE AND EMPLOYMENT
With a degree in Law and a PhD in Applied Economics, Rocío Albert comes from being Deputy Minister of Educational Policy in the previous Executive.
She is the author of numerous academic papers on topics related to Education, Economy and Innovation, Regulation and Public Policies published in prestigious international journals. She has been a visiting professor at different universities (Harvard, Bologna, Bogotá and Córdoba, in Argentina).
EMILIO VICIANA, COUNSELOR OF EDUCATION AND UNIVERSITIES
Lawyer in Law and civil administrator of the State, Emilio Viciana, is currently vice-secretary of the Advisory Board of Public Procurement of the State, attached to the Ministry of Finance and Public Function.
CARLOS NOVILLO, DIRECTOR OF THE ENVIRONMENT, LAND AND INTERIOR PLANNING
An agronomist and firefighter by profession in the Alcorcón City Council until 2015, Carlos Novillo is Deputy Minister of the Interior and director of the Madrid 112 Security and Emergency Agency, a position he has held since 2017.
His professional career has grown since Ayuso was regional president, until he held the position of deputy councilor in 2019, and now he is moving to the political front line as councilor for the Environment, Territorial Planning and the Interior.
ANA DÁVILA, FAMILY, YOUTH AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS COUNCILOR
With a degree in Psychology, with teaching and research experience in this field, Ana Dávila is a deputy of the Popular Parliamentary Group and has been councilor for Health, Family and Minors in the Las Rozas de Madrid City Council, as well as deputy minister of Health Care and general director of Humanization and Patient Care.
JORGE RODRIGO, DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORT, HOUSING AND INFRASTRUCTURE
The former Vice President of the Assembly Jorge Rodrigo will be the new Minister of Transport, Housing and Infrastructures. Graduated in Law, he has been a deputy of the Madrid Assembly since 2019 and has been part of the Government of the Community of Madrid in previous legislatures as general director of Relations with the Assembly and coordinator of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Community of Madrid.
MIGUEL LÓPEZ-VALVERDE ARGÜESO, DIRECTOR OF DIGITALIZATION
Senior Telecommunications Engineer and expert in new technologies and digitization, Miguel López-Valverde Argüeso will lead the new Department of Digitalization, after 25 years in management and leadership positions related to information and communication technologies in companies in the sector.
In the last legislature he was general director of Information Systems and Digital Health in the Ministry of Health.
FÁTIMA MATUTE, HEALTH COUNSELOR
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery, Medical Specialist in Radiodiagnosis, Fátima Matute will direct the Ministry of Health. Since 2003 she has carried out her activity in the Radiology Department at the San Carlos Public Hospital.
MARIANO DE PACO, MINISTER OF CULTURE, TOURISM AND SPORTS.
He has a degree in Law and a PhD in Spanish Literature. He has extensive management experience in the cultural and artistic sector. He has been the manager of the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts and is currently the Director of Management of the Teatros del Canal.
