Madrid, June 19 (EFE).- Monday’s day will be marked by locally strong showers and storms in areas of Galicia, Cantabria and the upper Ebro and rising temperatures in Mallorca and areas of the southeast of the peninsula, where temperatures could reach 35°C , according to the State Meteorological Agency.
Thus, instability will continue in the northern half and interiors of the southeastern third of the peninsula, where cloudy skies or with intervals of medium and high clouds will predominate.
Scattered showers accompanied by storms are expected from the early hours in areas of the central north, southeast and especially in the northwest of the peninsula, and may become locally strong or persistent in the west of Galicia, where they will subside throughout the day.
In the rest of the north, they will intensify and generalize in the afternoon, being able to reach forts or be accompanied by hail in the Cantabrian area, upper Ebro and Galician mountains.
The showers will spread in a weaker and more dispersed way to the rest of the areas of the Peninsula, except for the southwestern quadrant and Mediterranean coasts where, as in the Balearic Islands, skies with few clouds or with intervals of medium and high clouds without precipitation will predominate.
In the Canary Islands, in the afternoon there will be intervals of evolution clouds with probable scattered showers on the islands of greater relief.
The minimum temperatures will remain without major changes, while the maximum will decrease, except in Mediterranean areas, the eastern Cantabrian and the Balearic Islands, where they will increase.
Light winds from the southwest in the western half of the peninsula, more intense in the southwest quadrant, and in general from the south and southeast in the eastern half; from east to west in the Bay of Biscay, west in the Strait and Alborán; north in the northern half of the Mediterranean coasts and in the Canary Islands, weak in this case.
In the Balearic Islands, easterly component winds tending to be variable, and in the Pyrenees some very strong gusts at the summits.
