Alicante, (EFE).- The official Alicante bonfire of these 2023 Bonfires, ‘Geoda’, is a tribute to the city’s radio journalists, “our voice in confinement”, as the mayor, Luis, commented this Sunday Barcala after visiting the monument.

Barcala has reviewed this Sunday together with the Councilor for Fiestas, Cristina Cutanda, the monument, the work of Pedro Espadrero, who has included various journalists in one of the bases of the monument: “In the case of Espadero, they helped him combat the long hours of solitude in his workshop and it is more than deserved recognition”, he stated.
Also accompanied by members of the Municipal Corporation, the president of the Fogueres Federation, Toñi Martín-Zarco, and the Belleas del Foc, Barcala has stated that the journalists who appear on the scene are Juan Carlos Gumiel, Carlos Arcaya, Luz Sigüenza, Denis Rodríguez, Juan Carlos Fresneda, Pepe Requena and Vicente Hipólito.
Raúl Álvarez Antón also appears, one of the historical figures of Radio Alicante, who guided Escudero in his first steps in the world of Bonfires, stressed the artist, who is celebrating 40 years in this trade.
The official delegation, which has been interested in the ‘Geoda’ plantà tasks and has been photographed next to this monument, has also visited the children’s bonfire, the work of Sergio Gómez and whose motto is ‘D’Alacant al món’.
