Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife), June 16 (EFE).- The comedian Moncho Borrajo has expressed his sadness at the death of his friend, the ventriloquist Mari Carmen, but added that it is time to remember her with joy for all that she made us laugh to millions of people.
María del Carmen Martínez, artistically known as Mari Carmen and her dolls, died on Thursday in an accidental fall at her home in Puerto de la Cruz, where her friend Moncho Borrajo approached this Friday morning.
The comedian explained that they had agreed to meet these days to eat rabbit in salmorejo, a dish that Mari Carmen “liked very much”.
The artist, who gave voice to her Doña Rogelia, Nicol, Rodolfo and Daisy dolls, was writing her memoirs, revealed Moncho Borrajo, who lamented that this is a country where successes are forgotten very easily.
Mari Carmen has been residing in Puerto de la Cruz for about ten years and her mortal remains will be transferred to her native Cuenca for the obsequies. EFE
