Vitoria (EFE).- Drugs have heated up and the Californians Rancid have blown up the start of the Azkena Rock Festival in Vitoria.
It has been a first day that has been warming up with the passage of the bands on the “God” and “Respect” stages.
Rancid has picked up speed since the start of his gig.
The North Americans have made the Azkena public vibrate with a very powerful start marked by “Tomorrow never comes”.
It has given way to a series of electric and energetic themes.
The punk rock of these classics has fully entered the main stage pit, with the unmistakable voice of Tim Armstrong.
The guitar in “Old friend” has marked the second part of a concert in which the public has merged with the band in “The wars end”.
From there everything has flowed until the final stretch with two of his most iconic songs, “Time bomb” and “Ruby Soho”.
Drugs, the charisma in Azkena
By then, Enrique Villarreal “El Drogas” has already shown that the years have not passed for him.
Above all because of the energy and charisma that he transmits from the stage.
In a tireless concert with hardly any interruptions, the one from Chantrea (Pamplona) and his band have given it their all in over an hour.
He has started with “La silla eléctrica” and “Contra la pared” to set the rhythm of a gig with a great sound.
“Let’s see if 30 songs come in in ten minutes,” joked the Navarrese, who barely left time between songs.
“Animal caliente” has been one of the great successes in which he has invited the public to join in singing, while in
“Okupación”, the man from Pamplona has got rid of his jacket to face a final stretch with “Todos mirando” and “Balas blancas”, at the moment in which night has entered the “azkenero” venue.
The hymns of “No hay trugua” and “Blanco y negro” have also sounded to put the finishing touch to an hour and a quarter of the concert in which the founder of Barricada has been “at ease”.
A phrase that he has repeated on numerous occasions, together with the tireless drummer Brígido Duque, the voice of Koma in other times.

The day was opened by the Basques Liher, who surprised more than one person who dropped by the venue early in the morning and who was pleasantly surprised by the staging and the voice of Lide Hernando.
The people from San Sebastian have given way to Os Mutantes and later to Steve Earle, who embedded in his guitar, his harmonica and his banjo, without any stage variety, has struck a chord with those present with his voice and delicacy on stage.
Monster Magnet, the climax
Monster Magnet has been the culmination of a night that has ended at dawn with the bands of Trashville.
Those from New Jersey have been one of the most anticipated groups of the night and have been growing in a shorter concert than the rest, but very intense.
Rock has also been felt outside the venue with the celebration of “Osteguna Rock” in the center of the city, with a poster completed by three bands.
The recently created Barriomanía venues have shown their varied repertoire before giving way to two Swedish bands.
The Vanjas quartet has put the guitar touch of the 60s.
Eclipse has transferred to the Basque capital the international success that its particular “hard rock” has given it.
On the second day, Incubus and The Pretenders will take the reins and the lights will come on on the “Love” stage, dedicated to smaller format bands. EFE
