Vitoria, (EFE).- 700 agents summoned by “Ertzainas in struggle” and four unions have demonstrated near the Basque Parliament in demand for labor improvements.
The demonstration took place behind the usual banner in the mobilizations of this group with the motto “Without a dignified regulatory agreement there is no Tour. 12 years without agreement. Ertzainas in struggle”, to which have been pasted photographs of the Security Councilor, Josu Erkoreka, with the words “expired” and “resignation”.
The protesters have made a lot of noise with whistles and horns, something that the director of the Ertzaintza, Victoria Landa, tried to prohibit. Her resolution was later annulled by the Superior Court of Justice of the Basque Country.
On this occasion, the Ertzaintza has deployed a larger number of agents than on the 1st. That day, the protesters from this group blocked the movement of the tram without authorization for more than half an hour. This fact led to the opening of a file to the agents in charge of security at that time.
Today the tram has had to suspend its service from nine to eleven in the morning, when the mobilization was scheduled to end.
There have been no incidents or discrepancies between the demonstrators and the ertzainas deployed around Parliament to ensure access to the headquarters.

The 700 ertzainas have gathered for a few minutes in front of the main door of the Chamber and have chanted shouts of “Erkoreka resignation”.
A spokesperson for “Ertzainas en lucha” has considered that union unity around the demands of this group is “one of the best things that has happened in the history of the Ertzaintza”.
He has said that those who have to negotiate an agreement are the unions, although he has reiterated that the collective would like to participate as “observers”.
An agreement voted by the entire squad
This spokesman has demanded that the hypothetical agreement be voted on by the entire workforce and not just union members.
He explained that with his claims he intends to recover part of the purchasing power lost in recent years and achieve improvements in the work material, because the current one is “totally obsolete.”
Joseba Saralegi, Euspel’s general secretary, has referred to some statements by Erkoreka in which he showed the Department’s willingness to negotiate with the unions and after assessing them, he has qualified that they have no real proof of this.
“We are willing to talk, we want to resolve this, that it be pacified and normalized and we sit down to reach an agreement,” he explained.
Saralegi has reiterated that in addition to the equalization of salaries with the local police forces in the Basque Country, they are asking for improvements in terms of material and conciliation, among others. EFE
