El Pinar (El Hierro) (EFE) Herreña Independent Association, which will take office on June 26, representing the most voted list.
The general secretary of the PSOE in El Hierro, Alpidio Armas, who will recover the presidency of the Cabildo from the detriment of his brother Javier Armas, has rebranded this agreement with the president of the Herreña Assembly, David Cabrera and the representative of the IUC-Reunir Canarias coalition, Amado Carballo, after reaching a government programmatic agreement in this insular institution.
The agreement has been signed in La Hoya de El Morcillo, in the municipality of El Pinar, in a call with the media and supported by members of the different groups that signed the agreement.
This agreement between PSOE, Asamblea Herreña and IUC-Reunir Canarias gives the majority in the Cabildo de El Hierro with seven directors.
As the formations that signed the motion of censure explained during the event, it is an agreement in which the will to provide political stability to the main institution on the island has prevailed and in which the participating forces have stated, They have made “a generous effort” in favor of the agreement reached.
In this sense, and regarding the distribution of areas of Government, they have advanced that the new insular corporation will be chaired by the socialist Alpidio Armas, the first vice-presidency will fall into the hands of David Cabrera (Herreña Assembly), and the third vice-presidency will be will be occupied by Amado Carballo (IUC-Reunir Canarias), who will also be in charge of the Ministries of Social Services, Housing, Equality and a new Ministry of Social Rights.
For its part, the PSOE will be in charge of the ministries of the Presidency, Administrative Organization, Finance and Personnel, Tourism, transport and communications and the Environment, Waste and Recycling, Security and Emergencies; while Assembly Herreña, will occupy the areas of Rural and Marine Environment, Hydraulic Resources, Education, Youth, Culture and Sports, Heritage, Territorial Planning, Employment and Economic Development, Maintenance, Works, Services and Highways.
Among the motivations for this agreement, all the formations that signed the pact have agreed that it has been the difficulty of accepting the conditions proposed by the Agrupación Herreña Independiente (AHI), in its round of negotiations with the different political forces, among which was the imposition of including the Popular Party in a future Government in the Cabildo chaired by the AHI, “regardless of whether it is necessary or not numerically.”
On the other hand, the signatories of the agreement have informed that the motion will be presented as soon as possible in order to expedite the procedures to make it effective. EFE
