Zaragoza (EFE).- The acting president of Aragon and general secretary of the PSOE, Javier Lambán, has offered this Thursday to Teruel Exist the presidency of the Diputación de Teruel. It is a pact to which the PAR would have to join, and to which it therefore invites adherence, to avoid a provincial government of the PP.
For the socialist leader, once recognized by the PP that the structural support of the Government of Aragon will include Vox, the “ball becomes in the court” of Teruel Existe, which is risking its “credibility” if it ends up accepting the invitations that the popular ones make of pacts towards their abstention, and the PAR their “survival” if they choose to “definitely sell the party for some prebend accounts.”
He has delved into the risk that Teruel runs. It exists in its credibility if it ends up being a “mere troupe of a PP and Vox government” when they said they would never accept it, and the PAR “directly its survival”, because it faces the dilemma of “definitely selling the party for a few dishes of lentils” or maintaining the expectation of a future PAR if it remains autonomous and avoids the “bear hug” that the PP tries to give it.
In this context, he has emphasized that after the “almost heroic” act achieved by Alberto Izquierdo in “keeping the PAR alive” – he managed to retain the seat for Teruel – and after all the attempts that were made “from within and without ” for ending the party, if he opts for these “perks”, what he will do is “renounce being a political force”.
The “bear hug”
Because for Lambán, the PP offers the PAR the “bear hug” and the PSOE, “dignity” and the possibility of being a “determinant” political force in the future, because in positions “they cannot compete” with the PP.
Given the “risk of an excessive concentration of power” with Vox as one of the fundamental pillars, the PSOE has raised in all the conversations it is holding to reach agreements in the institutions a “formal invitation to the political forces of the Community to defend the democratic health” of Aragon, autonomy and self-government, which is “impossible” with the formation of the extreme right.
Thus, he has reiterated the offer to Teruel Existe to preside over the Teruel Provincial Council in an agreement with the PSOE and the PAR to direct the institution and has advanced that this morning he will transfer it to his two candidates for the presidency of Aragon, Tomás Guitarte and Alberto Izquierdo.
Guitarte warns: depends on a third party
For his part, the coordinator of Teruel Existe, Tomás Guitarte, has warned Lambán that “you can offer things if you can, but if you depend on a third party you also have to have talked to the other party.”
Guitarte has admitted that the PSOE had already offered them the presidency of the DPT in the first meeting they held and has acknowledged that they are still in the negotiation process, although he has assured that to offer them that possibility, they have to speak with a third party, the PAR . “We don’t know if he has spoken about it; he doesn’t look like it”, he said.
Tomás Guitarte has indicated that talks continue with the two majority groups, PP and PSOE, and considers that with both “agreements can be reached”.
“In these days we will see how it evolves”, the training coordinator has called for calm, who has acknowledged not having preferences: “the key to our negotiations is the programme, if someone does not support it, an agreement cannot be reached ”.
On a regional level, Guitarte has assured that he wants to prevent it from becoming “a policy of ideological blocs”, and has recalled that they offered to facilitate an investiture of the ‘popular’ candidate, Jorge Azcón, with his abstention, because they did not want to “reproach him for someone who falls into the hands of Vox, when you have the power to avoid it”.
Alós censors Lambán’s attempts to boycott the PP dialogue
The general secretary of the Aragonese PP, Ana Alós, for her part, has censured Lambán’s attempts to “boycott and influence” the dialogue of the popular with the political forces that received the support of the Aragonese in the regional and municipal elections to favor the governance of the Community.
“This morning, Mr. Lambán has questioned and criticized the fact that the PP, as the clear winner of the last regional elections, meets with all the political forces to favor the governability of Aragon”, has affected Alós, who has asserted that the way of Understanding Lambán’s democracy goes through the fact that “the policy of pacts that has marked Aragonese politics throughout the democracy is only acceptable if the PSOE governs.”
Alós has criticized that Lambán arrogates the exclusivity of democracy and that for the PSOE, “institutions can only have one color, theirs.”
“It is not dignified that an acting president does not accept a defeat at the polls. The Aragonese spoke loud and clear, with their own voice, and the political forces must abide by their decision without qualms”, remarked Alós, for whom the defeat “is bringing to light the true face of Lambán”, which in his opinion “does not it can be more authoritarian or more sectarian”.
