Logroño, (EFE).- Some 70 people have participated this Thursday in a casserole and sit-in by Justice officials at the gates of the Palace of Justice of La Rioja, in order to convey to the Government of Spain that “we are not going to stop until we manage to sit down and negotiate an agreement”.
This was stated by the person in charge of CSIF Justicia La Rioja, Javier Ochoa, in an informative meeting during this concentration, in which the union delegate of UGT La Rioja Begoña Ducrós also participated, to demand improvements in the working conditions of this group.
The participants have sat in front of the door of the Palace of Justice in La Rioja making it difficult for people to access and leave it and have chanted the phrase “Justice blocked and the Government does nothing”, the same one that could be read on a large banner next to to the logos of CSIF, UGT and CCOO, the calling unions.
Thus, for a few minutes, the main door of the Palace of Justice of La Rioja has been blocked by the nearly 70 people who have joined this initiative, and who have protested making noise with pans and various household items, after what they have come out to the road to continue with their claims.
“We are not going to stop”
“One more day, -Ochoa has specified- and there will be many more if the Executive does not decide to negotiate and sit down at the table. We have been on strike for almost two months now and I think the government has to realize that this is not going to stop, it doesn’t matter if there is an electoral campaign involved”.
He has highlighted that the general strike of Justice officials causes “tremendous damage, both in La Rioja and at the national level, with a million trials and millions of judicial proceedings suspended, while in the community of La Rioja there are hundreds of trials suspended” .
“The only step that the Government took was to call us in a meeting in which the only proposal was to end the strike and negotiate after the general elections,” he indicated, but he has insisted that “the Executive is not in office, it is operational In fact, he has summoned us for other types of meetings that have nothing to do with our demands”.
