Madrid, June 14 (EFE).- Meteorological stability will be the predominant note on the peninsula today after previous days of heavy rains and only the Balearic Islands remain on alert, with significant risk (orange), due to accumulations of up to 50 liters per meter square of water in one hour.
The alert in the Balearic archipelago for rain and storms will only be maintained in the first half of the day and will especially affect the islands of Menorca and Mallorca, especially the Tramontana mountains, according to the latest predictions from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). .
In the early hours of the morning, until 8 a.m., the communities of Navarra and the Basque Country, specifically Gipuzkoa, also have the yellow alert activated for accumulated rainfall of 50 liters per square meter in twelve hours.
For today’s session, instability is expected to continue only in the northeast of the peninsula and in the Balearic Islands, with rains and showers in the eastern Cantabrian Sea, the Pyrenean environment and especially in the Balearic Islands.
In the afternoon they could also occur in Catalonia, although with a low probability of being locally strong, while in the rest of the peninsula stability will predominate without ruling out some weak and occasional precipitation in other areas of the northeastern third.
