Valladolid (EFE).- Prices rose 3.2 percent in May in Castilla y León in the annual rate, eight tenths less than the data for April and the same indicator as the national data, and those of food and non-alcoholic beverages they also moderated their rise to 12.2 percent, almost one point less than the previous month.
In the national group, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) has confirmed this Tuesday that the consumer price index (CPI) stood at 3.2% year-on-year in May, nine tenths lower than the rate registered in April, due to cheaper fuels and lower rises in food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Prices rose between 4.9 in the Canary Islands and 2.4 in Madrid, and Castilla y León, with that 3.2, in the national average and the same indicator as Catalonia, scored the ninth highest CPI in the autonomous community.
The annual CPI rate fell in all the autonomies
The annual rate of the CPI decreased in May compared to April in all communities, with the greatest decreases in Murcia, Galicia, Principado de Asturias and La Rioja with decreases of 1.5, 1.2, 1.1 and 1.1 points , respectively.
The smallest decreases were registered by Canarias and Comunidad Foral de Navarra, with 0.6 points, and in Aragón and Cataluña, with 0.7 points.
In monthly data, prices rose one tenth in May in Castilla y León and remained stable at the national average.
Inflation in May: between 2.7 in Valladolid and 4.3 in Zamora
By province, prices rose between 2.7 in Valladolid and 2.9 in Burgos in annual rates and 4.3 in Zamora, one of the provinces with the highest price increase in Spain after Las Palmas, Santa Cruz of Tenerife and the autonomous city of Meilla.
In Salamanca prices rose 3.7 compared to a year ago, with 3.5 in Palencia, 3.2 in León, 3.1 in Segovia and 3 percent in Ávila and Soria.

Cereals and derivatives cost 15.4% more and bread 7.2

Pork meat continues to increase and has risen by 16.8 in the last year, the same as beef, which is 11 more expensive than a year ago, with a slight drop, to 8.7 in that of pork. sheep and poultry, 7 percent.
Fresh and frozen fish slowed its rise to 1.6 percent, and crustaceans, molluscs and fish preparations rose 10.6 percent.
Dairy products rise 16.8% and milk 23.8%
Among the foods that have become more expensive in the last twelve months in the Community, milk also stands out, with 23.8 percent, dairy products 16.8 and eggs 15.6 percent, or 9, 9 oil and fats.
Fresh legumes and vegetables are 19.5 percent more expensive than a year ago in Castilla y León and the prices of potatoes and derivatives have risen 21.6 percent, with fresh fruits 5 percent. EFE
