Madrid (EFE) party leadership.
Five days after Martín Blanco, who was also a member of the National Executive Committee of Citizens, announced that he was leaving the party, the PP has opted for his candidacy to lead the Barcelona list, since the deputy Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo will go in the list by Madrid to the Congress.
Álvarez de Toledo had concurred in the last general elections for the candidacy of Barcelona and the party leadership has decided to include her in these elections on the list for Madrid together with the campaign spokesman, Borja Sémper.
Martín Blanco announced last Thursday that he was leaving the liberal formation and expressed his “pessimism” about the future of the party after the poor results of the last municipal elections, in which they obtained 10 councilors in the entire community and were left out of the Barcelona City Council. .
Asked about his future at the time of his resignation and after the possibility that he would join the PP, Martín Blanco evaded the answer and indicated that he only wanted to “talk about what I can talk about consistently, clearly and firmly. I don’t want to talk or speculate about anything else.”
