The UGT, CCOO and CGT unions have signed today together with the Junta de Castilla y León this new labor agreement, negotiated for three years, and which all have classified as “positive” and whose economic impact on public coffers is unknown.

The agreement signed this Monday and which will enter into force from July 1 to December 31, 2025 includes some historical demands, such as discontinuous fixed firefighting, which will have a contract 12 months of the year.
It affects fire personnel, nursing assistants, orderlies, cleaning personnel, cooks, nurses in social services and includes demands such as partial retirement or nightly weighting of social services personnel.
The new agreement will replace the one that was signed in 2013 and that, by agreement with the union representation in 2016, was extended until January 1, 2018, with a negotiation interrupted by the pandemic that after three years and one hundred meetings was signed at the end of March pending approval by the Governing Council. The agreement will affect 12,508 workers, of whom 64.2% are women (8,033) and 35.8% are men (4,475).

And as news, it includes that the five current professional classification groups are reduced to 4 in application of the new educational system, integrating group 5 into group 4, which affects 5,130 workers, with an improvement in wages and working conditions, estimated in about two hundred euros gross per month, according to what union sources have informed EFE.

With this, the professionalization and specialization of the workforce eminently belonging to groups III and IV has tended, rigorously applying the provisions of the regulations on education and degree equivalencies, as well as the Law on Organization and Integration of the Vocational training.

Among the groups affected by this agreement, the operation to fight forest fires stands out, to collect what was signed in terms of labor improvements for the personnel of the Fire Operation in the Social Dialogue.
With this, the professional categories of the operation are redefined and the employment contract is extended to those known as discontinuous permanent ones so that it is for a whole year in 2025.
In addition, these discontinuous permanent personnel may participate in the Open and Permanent Competition for February and November, under the same conditions as the rest of the permanent labor personnel.
It also includes an economic recognition to the personnel who provide their services in the Social Services Management, specifically the payment to the nurses of a complement of assistance continuity, which rewards the overlap in the change of shifts, as well as the recognition of a reduced working day as compensation for working on a rotating shift that includes the night shift.
