Madrid (EFE).- Renfe has completed the registration of the branch in Lyon (France) in the commercial register of the neighboring country, thus obtaining permission from the French authority to start its commercial activity imminently, reported the railway company.
The new Renfe branch is located next to the Lyon Part Dieu Station. The process is a “decisive step” to undertake the establishment of the company in the French market in the long term and a “key step” in its internationalization strategy.
Renfe has communicated that, in practice, this progress completes the administrative process necessary for its full operation in France.
He describes this market as a “priority” in the company’s internationalization strategy, where the most immediate milestone will be the commissioning of the new AVE trains that will link Barcelona-Girona-Figueres Vilafant with Lyon; and Madrid-Zaragoza–Camp de Tarragona–Barcelona–Girona–Figueres Vilafant with Marseille.
The routes will have, he adds, numerous stations in French territory such as Narbonne, Montpellier, Nimes, Avignon or Aix-en-Provence.
The company will announce in the coming days the opening of the sale for this service.
Renfe informs that the next steps will be the expansion of AVE trains to the corridors with the highest density and economic interest for the company and its positioning as a reference operator for the French public.
