Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (EFE).- Dreamland Gran Canaria announced this Monday that the club will not play the Euroleague for economic reasons, “once the situation has been analysed”, so it will compete again in the Eurocopa.
In a statement, the club has pointed out that it has made this decision unanimously after an extraordinary session of the CB Gran Canaria-Claret Board of Directors in which this decision has been voted on when assessing a report prepared by the entity.
This is the second time that the yellow club has qualified for the Euroleague, after doing so in the 2017-18 season.
In that edition, corresponding to the 2018-2019 academic year, Gran Canaria only won eight of the 30 games played in the European competition and suffered a significant drop in performance in the regular season, where it ended up out of the playoff spots.
The club has called a press conference to attend the media tomorrow Tuesday and explain the reasons in more detail. EFE
