Madrid (EFE).- The Central Electoral Board (JEC) has agreed to advance two days the date on which city councils can carry out the draw to assign citizens the positions at the polling stations on 23J, so that it will be done between June 22 and 28.
The JEC has informed this Friday of the new date on which the municipalities will start the draws, originally scheduled between June 24 and 28.
Thus, the draws can be made from Thursday 22 as long as the consistories have the final electoral census and publicize the date of the draw, as indicated by the JEC, which indicates that these extraordinary plenary sessions for the draws coincide in time with the constitution of the new local corporations arising from the elections of May 28, scheduled in most cases for the next day 17.
Extension until July 20 of the term to deposit the vote by mail
The JEC has also reported that it is extending by one day the deadline to deposit the vote by mail for the general elections on July 23, so it can be done until Thursday, July 20 at the Post Office, during its usual opening hours. .
The JEC has responded to the request that Correos made to it in this regard and has approved this extension by one day of the deadline, in the same way that it has done in previous elections, with a request to the company to exercise extreme diligence to ensure that the envelopes can be delivered on the day of voting at the respective polling stations.
Another resolution that the JEC has reported this Friday is the extension until June 29 for the request to vote by mail for voters who are temporarily abroad (ERTA), who have to register in the consulate records. .
The request for this extension of the term was made by the PP to the JEC, which has agreed and will transfer this maximum date to the provincial electoral boards and the general directorates of Internal Policy, Spaniards Abroad and Consular Affairs, to that they give it due diffusion.
